Volunteer and Support Our Community
Explore meaningful ways to contribute your time and talents to empower women of faith through collaboration and service.
Foster the Family
Foster the Family provides Immediate Placement Packages to families welcoming a child through foster, adoptive, or kinship care.
Immediately after a child is placed in a new home, Foster the Family dispatches a trained & background checked volunteer to the foster home to deliver a Emergency Placement Package that includes clothing, hygiene, and comfort items for the child, a meal for the family, and an invitation into our caring network of support.
Dr. Marilyn Myers and her husband have previously served as foster parents. Although they no longer have an open home for foster children, they remain dedicated to collaborating with Foster the Family in their community to assist families and children in need. We wholeheartedly endorse this organization as a valuable resource for becoming involved in your local community and supporting families who care for our most vulnerable children.

Pastor Brian Keet in the Community

Women's of Egoli Engagement
The Tekiah Church Egoli is profoundly impacting the lives of South Africa's most vulnerable individuals—especially children—who reside in a harrowing squatter camp on the fringes of Cape Town, where approximately 25,000 people are crammed into just two city blocks and basic necessities are rarely fulfilled.
Inspired by Pastor Brian Keet's vision, the initiative has established a vibrant community hub—encompassing a church, sports fields, farm plots, and a center dedicated to providing education, hygiene, meals, and skills training.
We invite you to be a part of this mission of hope: your support contributes to the creation of a sanctuary for growth and transformation, empowering the community and illuminating areas where light is most essential.

Tekiah Leadership Team
The founder of Shades of Sisterhood has participated in three mission trips to Egoli. The first was with a medical mission team from her church, the second alongside her husband and two close friends, and the third with her church and her son. In June 2026, Marilyn will embark on a family mission trip that includes her entire family as well as her parents. You can support their mission trip with resources here:
